We had a lovely weekend. The weather was wonderful for the most part. On Friday after work I went to Babies R Us to pick up a shower gift for next weekend. Then, I stopped by Borders in Richfield. It's closing, so everything was 90% off! It was amazing. Adam and I had stopped by Thursday over lunch after our usual lunch date, and everything was at 70% off still. I didn't buy anything then, and I'm glad I waited. I picked up 18 books! I had only heard of a few of them before, but the others looked really good. I just perused the aisles and put the books I thought looked good into my basket. How could I say no to a hardcover book, normally $25, for only $2.50?!? I do love books. Last year I read 50, this year so far I've read 21, so I'm on track to hit over 50. My goal is to read one a week, so 52 in a year. I usually get my books from the library, so it'll be fun to read brand-new-never-been-read books.
When I got home, we went for our usual walk around the block. Then Adam and I made empanadas. It was a great use for the hot sauce Adam made last weekend with jalepenos. It was amazing. We also watched "Due Date," which was pretty funny, but not as good as I thought it would be. I loved the Frenchie in it though. Chester did not. I think he wondered what that dog was doing in his house!
On Saturday, we went over to Curt and Robin's so Adam and Curt could work on constructing tomato cages for the gardens. While the guys worked on that project, Robin and I took Chester for a nice walk, and then relaxed on the porch with some iced tea. Later, we made some delicious homemade egg rolls. We always eat such wonderful food when we're with Curt and Robin!

| Napping buddies |
At home, Adam and Chester took a nice long nap together. Then, we took Chester for a walk before leaving for the Twins game. The game was at 6:10. We had really been looking forward to bringing the new Canon with to the game, but with rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, we just didn't want to risk it. I had to settle for taking a few photos with my Sony Cybershot.

| Opening Weekend! |
It was fun to go to a game on Opening Weekend, even if it was overcast, a little chilly, and the Twins lost. We were sitting in the Home Run Porch Terrace, so we really appreciated the new big screen above the grandstand. My only complaint when we had similar seats last year is that you couldn't see the big screen (since it was above and behind you), and thus couldn't see replays or player info.

I also liked the new "Fun Facts" they display on the new big screen when a player is at bat. I thought it was pretty cool to learn different factoids about each of the players (even those on the opposing team). Like Del Young, you gangster, "The Great Gatsby" is one of my favorite books too! Who knew?!?

And the new Twins Tower is pretty cool too. I didn't expect to like it, but I do. We're looking forward to all of the other Twins games coming up.
Sunday was our usual day to relax and get stuff done around the house. Adam went to the grocery store while I cleaned and took Chester for a nice long walk. Chester and I also wandered around the yard. Chester was especially curious of all the budding plants - rhubarb, hostas, peonies, etc. We really have to keep an eye on him!
Last night we watched America's Next Great Restaurant, which we enjoy. Yes, you have to hear about a million times that Steve Ells is the founder of Chipotle, and that he started it with an $85,000 loan from his dad, but other than that, it's a pretty good show. Maybe I just like it because they'll be opening one in Minnesota (one of the 3 spots in the U.S. to start).
