We had planned to leave right after I got off of work on Friday, but Adam ended up having to take Chester to the vet so our departure was slightly delayed. I had noticed Chester limping after we got home from our without dogs Obedience Class on Thursday night. Sometimes he would be fine, but often he wouldn't walk on his right leg, instead lifting it up. We thought maybe he had landed on it funny, but he was still doing it Friday morning when I took him outside. When Adam got home from work Friday afternoon, he still was doing it. Adam called the vet and they suggested bringing him in.
Luckily, he was in and out very quickly and they sent him home with some pain meds, Deramaxx. The vet said it could be one of three things- knee cap groove issue, torn ACL and I don't remember the third. We're supposed to keep an eye on it, and keep him calm- no jumping, and no walks. Those are his favorite things. Poor little Chester. Since then, we've stopped giving him the Deramaxx because it made him sick, uninterested in his food, and very thirsty (all side effects). They're going to check on it again when he has his regular check-up in two weeks. According to the vet, he weighs 11 pounds, which is what I've been getting the past 2 months when I've weighed him at home. I hope he's done growing!
Our drive down to La Crescent wasn't the best. We encountered rain, sleet, snow and slush. By Lewiston we saw two car accidents within a mile, so we had to slow down a lot. When we finally arrived at my parent's, we had some wonderful veggie pizza from Pizza King and just hung out with my mom and sister.
On Saturday, we awoke to snow on the ground. It wasn't a huge surprise as we had seen it coming down and on the ground on our drive the night before. I used the opportunity to play around and take some snow photos with the new camera.
Then, mom and I dropped off Christine at volunteering and had manis and pedis at the Metropolitan Salon. We had a lot of fun even though it was cold wearing sandals out to the car.
At 1 pm was Samantha's Baby Shower at Diane's home in Dakota. It was nice to see everyone.

Christine and I kept busy embroidering bibs for the baby. What a neat idea! Though it took me much longer than it should have...
While we were at the shower, Adam and Dad took a tour of the shrine with the architect. Then, they met up with Jerry, Frank, Jesse and Steven at Buffalo Wild Wings. It sounds like they had a good time.
After the shower, we went back to my parents house. Kasey, Jesse, Diane, and Jerry joined us for dinner. Frank, Kelly, and Kaylee stopped by as well.
Sunday we didn't really do much. It was very nice out though, and we enjoyed dinner out on my parent's deck. We headed back around 3. It was great to get home before dark for once! We have a busy week ahead in the cities, and then we'll be back at my parent's again for Easter. I'm really looking forward to seeing my mom's side of the family then.
