We went back to my parent's to celebrate the weekend before my birthday.
On Friday, my parents and sister were at a party, so Adam, Chester and I had some yummy Pizza King pizza and watched a movie, Thor. It was kind of weird, but pretty good. Then we met our good friend Joe downtown at the Starlite Lounge. The service was awful, but my tiramisu martini was awesome. This was followed by Dublin Square for a pint of cider (where Joe ran into some guys he knew), Coconut Joe's (GROSS), Bronco's, and of course Del's for a Bloody Mary. It was a good time indeed.
Saturday we went out on the pontoon boat all day. Carey and Kelly also came with.
We ended up at Crater Island for most of the afternoon meeting up with Jerry's family.
Late afternoon, we headed back to relax and get ready for our 7:45 reservation at The Waterfront. There we celebrated my birthday and our anniversaries. Two years for us and 30(!) for my parents on July 24.
This was where our wedding reception was 2 years ago!
We were there for over 2 hours, but enjoyed each others company.
On Sunday, we slept in, and it was glorious. Then, we went over to the new building that's part of the Clason campus, and looked around/took photos.
Back at home, we (Chester and I), opened our birthday presents.
Chester got a little help, but was good at ripping off the paper.
He got some winter boots and a few fun toys, including a Cuz with a plastic bottle type ball in the middle. He was determined to get that thing out, and had the ball deflated within half an hour. A few days later, he got it out. Ugh. Destructive little thing. He loved it while it lasted though, and can still play with the blue exterior part.
I got some nice presents too!
Like a boat ladder for the fishing boat. You should see me trying to climb back in the boat when Adam and I decide to go swimming in the middle of the lake. Let's just say it's not pretty.
Chester thought this gift smelled particularly good.
BIRTHDAY CAKE oreos. So excited! I've been looking for them everywhere, unsuccessfully.
Then we had some of my delicious cake - Coldstone Cake Batter Confetti Cake with yellow cake instead of red velvet. YUM!
Sorry Chester, cake is not for puppies! Though I may have let him have a lick of frosting...
Chester even joined us, but he hated the water.
He much preferred to be out of his life jacket and sitting on my lap as I floated. Poor Chester.
Then dad grilled burgers, corn and garlic bread before we headed out. Christine came back with us because we were going to the Twins game together the next day for my birthday.
Fun weekend!
