Adam and I take my sister to a Twins game every year. It happened to work out the best this year for it to be on my birthday. Since we were already going to be visiting my parents the previous weekend, Stine could ride back with us, and then mom would only have to make one special trip up to get her. Then we could also celebrate my birthday together, which was great.
I had to go to work, which is never fun on your birthday, but Adam took me to lunch quick at Chipotle which was fun. Back at home, we opened my presents.
I let Chester help.
Adam and Chester gave me a really pretty aqua chevron rug for the kitchen
and a kitchen compost pail (so we don't have to keep running out to the composter in the yard)
Christine gave me some nice gardening gloves.
I was eager to put my new rug out. Chester liked it too.
I felt bad leaving Chester alone when we went to the game, but at least he had been home all day with Christine.
It was a super hot night. I think the high that day was 100° and it was still around 90° at 10 pm. In other words, it did not cool off. At all. Regardless, it was still a really fun night for a Twins game.
And the Twins actually played well! 7 runs in the first inning alone! Mauer had an opposite field home run,
and my guy Ben Revere had a few good catches.
We also ran into my Aunt Ahna and cousin Sam who were also at the game with some friends and family. Ahna generously showed up at our seats in the 3rd inning with an ice cold drink Mike's Hard Lemonade for me, ice cold beer for Adam, and Dip'n Dots for Christine! It was awesome!
Since there was so much offense, the game went long. We were tired, but stuck around for the whole game. What fun!
