Every year since I graduated from college, Christine has come up and stayed with me for a weekend. For the past 3 years, this weekend has evolved into Adam and I taking her to a Twins game.
This weekend my parents came up for part of it too. They stayed Friday night, and left Saturday afternoon. Friday we grilled out and Adam made his famous Jucy Lucy's. There were also some projects worked on by Adam and my dad that I will post about tomorrow. Of course Dad and Stine also had to watch the Packer game.
Saturday morning, mom, Stine and I did some shopping while the guys continued working on their upholstery project. We enjoyed some Savoy's pizza together for lunch out on the patio. Then mom and dad drove back home, while we left for the Twins game.
We had fun at the Twins game despite their loss to Detroit. The Twins actually kept it competitive and were leading at one point. We had great seats, and the weather was mostly nice minus a few raindrops when the game first began.

| Adam and I were talking about how no one really annoyed us at the game, but then again there was no one sitting around us! It was awesome. No one in front, directly behind, or on either side. |
Adam was excited to see Justin Verlander pitch for Detroit. Even though he didn't pitch his best, he still got the win which was his 20th of the season.

After the game we just hung out at home with Chester and watched the Vikings game along with "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding." Simply awesome.
Sunday was State Fair day! We left the house a little late, but were at the Fair grounds around 10. We took the park and ride bus from St. Paul College which was really convenient and meant we didn't have to deal with the headache of traffic or parking.
At the fair we had a lot of fun wandering around, people watching, and of course eating lots of yummy fair food. We saw a few things this year that I had never seen before like the crop art, DNR building and fish pond, and the Doggies of the Wild West Show which was new (and not very good...). We also went in the Miracle of Life Barn, but not for very long because it was so crowded and Adam HATES the animal barns.
(disclaimer- all Fair photos are taken with the point and shoot because there was no way I was walking around with the Canon all day)

As usual I got full too quickly and didn't get to try half the things I wanted to! I'll post everything we ate on Friday for a special edition of "Foodie Friday." My favorite thing we had though was the sweet corn ice cream. I was a little skeptical, but decided to go all out and had it with the optional warm topping of honey butter bacon sauce. It sounded gross but was excellent!

After the fair we headed home, got Christine and Chester packed up, and then met my parents in Rochester. It was a super busy, fun and exhausting weekend! Those are the best kind though!
