Our new washer dryer. Adam sent me this photo right after delivery.
So when we returned from our trip, we went dryer shopping. Dryer shopping soon turned into washer-dryer shopping when we decided it wasn't much more to just get a matched pair and be done with it. I had always wanted a front loader afterall, and the washer was a hand-me-down from my parents when we moved in as they were getting a new pair and our house didn't come with a washer. Besides, who knew how much longer the washer would last and then we'd be in a similar predicament.
We researched and picked out a pair only to discover that the hand-me-down washer was only 5 years old. After much debate, indecision, and discussions about just buying a cheap dryer, we went ahead and bought the nice pair anyway. My dad found a good home for the washer, so it at least won't be scrapped.
Which brings us to today when our new washer and dryer were finally delivered. They are all sparkly and new and look lovely. I have at least 6 loads of laundry to do, so we'll soon see how much I like them. So far so good.
I've cautioned Adam that he's not allowed to say, "I think we're done buying appliances for a while!" He reminded me that everything is still new and under warranty so we're probably good. We'll see...

The old washer. For the record, I was perfectly content with this old pair and would have definitely preferred if the dryer hadn't died :(
Our new set. They're almost too pretty for our ugly unfinished basement
