Weekend Recap: Halloween Party & Fall Leaves

We had a fun fall filled weekend!

Friday after work I stopped by Target and got a few things, including some shoes I've been obsessed with. I finally justified getting them by deciding they'd go perfectly with my Halloween costume. Because really, I have way too many shoes to get more for no reason.

Back at home, we made chili for dinner, which is pretty much the best fall meal ever. It was delicious! We spent the rest of the night relaxing, and I was so worn out I went to bed by 10.

Upon waking up on Saturday, our house was a chilly 54°. After checking the forecast, I relented and let Adam turn the heat on. I usually prefer to hold off turning on the heat until November though! The house quickly warmed up, and it felt so much better.

We took Chester for a walk while the sun was out and I brought my little Canon with to snap some photos of him.

Chester wasn't feeling too photogenic (you wouldn't know it from all these photos), but I still got quite a few cute ones of him in the fall leaves. It was quite the little photo shoot. I just may be obsessed with him.

We also saw his girlfriend on our walk. She's the little grey fur ball on the right.

Back at home, I finished working on Adam's Halloween costume and put mine together quickly. I'm not the greatest when it comes to sewing (hand stitching the sleeves of his costume took me forever), so I ended up using the no-sew ironing type stuff to finish his costume. It worked like a charm for the collar, which was a little tricky for me. I did hand stitch the buttons on though! Go crafty me.

I also made my cream cheese brownie cupcakes, and Adam made some hot chili cheese dip to take with.

Then it was off the annual Halloween party at our friend's house. This year, we went as Popeye and Olive Oyl. It was Adam's idea, and worked out well. We were able to use a lot of stuff we already owned (I kind of hate mass produced store bought costumes), and just accessorize. I was shocked that we were able to find a corn cob pipe for Adam, courtesy of Twin Cities Magic & Costume.

There were a lot of funny and creative costumes,
Wayne's World, Party on!
Psy - Gangnam Style!
LMFAO - "I work out!"

We had a fun time hanging out and seeing everyone. Adam really had a good time...

Chester was quite excited when we finally returned to him around 1 am. Poor puppy!

"I'M SO EXCITED YOU'RE FINALLY HOME!"
As usual, Sunday was a day for relaxation. We also sprinkled in a little backyard work, so it wasn't completely unproductive!
