Weekend Recap: Twins Game + Sick in Bed

There's not a whole lot to report from our weekend as I spent most of it in bed. Being sick sucks.

Our only outing was to the Twins game on Friday night. It was Twins Fishing Lure giveaway night for the first 5,000 fans. I had bought the tickets when they first went on sale, knowing this is something Adam would love. If we didn't already have the tickets though, I'm sure I wouldn't have gone. I was already starting to feel not well at all that afternoon.

In order to ensure we were one of the first 5,000 fans, we got there around 5 pm. We were probably one of the first 100 fans there... it was empty. But it was fun because we got to watch batting practice, which was a first for me.

Once that was over around 6, we walked around and got some food. We both got the Big Dog + onions and chips. Adam got a Surly (new to the ballpark this year) and we split some deep fried pickle slices (also new). They were pretty good, but I still like the ones we make at home better.

Deep fried pickles + beer = happy Adam
So even though we got to the ballpark two hours early, the time before the game went by really fast.  I was excited for the game because Ben Revere got called up and actually played. But I felt pretty awful, so spent most of the game snuggled up by Adam.

Pretty sweet fishing lure, eh?

On Saturday, I got out of bed I think a total of 3 times. I haven't felt that sick in years. I had a fever of almost 101, chills, body aches, running nose, cough and absolutely no energy. Pretty sure I had the flu. Good thing I had my boys to take care of me. Adam ran to the store for some meds, a thermometer and nice cold mango sorbet. He also waited on me when I was conscious. And sweet little Chester kept coming in to the bedroom to check on me, and then he would jump up and snuggle. Such a sweet little guy.

Sunday, I also didn't feel well. Surprise. Surprise. I spent half the day in bed, and the other half on the couch. So my weekend was pretty much wasted...

At least I feel quite a bit better now, even though I'm still coughing and blowing my nose constantly. I must be so annoying to be around...
