Foodie Friday: Chicago Style Pizza

Last Friday, we went to Tommy Chicago's Pizzeria in Mendota Heights for dinner. It's a smaller restaurant, so we had to wait a bit for a table. By the time we were seated, we were pretty hungry so we got a half order of deluxe garlic bread to start. It was really good but huge. I can't imagine what a full order would look like!

For our main meal, we ordered a Chicago Style Double Crust Pizza. It was a 14" pizza with crust on the bottom, toppings with two layers of cheese, another layer of crust and sauce with herbs on top. We ordered it with artichoke hearts, Greek pepperoncinis and green olives.

Adam can't decide what piece to take first
It was delicious but really big for two people. We didn't even eat half of it. Luckily, it reheated well. We got another lunch out of it and Adam got another dinner.

Adam can't wait to go back! I on the other hand, need a little more time before I crave that much pizza again.

  1. You should also check out Mendoberri next to Tommy Chicago's. Great little place, with fresh organic ingredients. Salads and pizzettes are really good!
