Weekend Recap: Lots of Snow & Vikings Game

It was a busy weekend for The Dang's.

On Friday, I drove through some snow down to Rochester to meet my friend Laura and do some shopping. I checked a few items off my Christmas buying list, and had a lot of fun in the process. It was fun to catch up, and dinner at HuHot is always enjoyable! The drive home on the other hand was not so enjoyable. It snowed the whole way back so the roads were slippery and it took about an hour and forty-five minutes. So half an hour longer than it should have. I didn't get home until after 10.

Saturday was Chester's party! It was the pug rescue's annual Santa Paws Holiday Party. We were really excited to take him to it, especially since he had been so good at the Paw-a-ween Halloween event. However, he barked almost the entire time and was quite stressed. I think it was because of a black lab that was there. I don't really know. I was determined that he would sit on Santa's lap, so I waited in line for that. After Santa, we left. I brought my camera, but didn't take any photos. Bummer. At least I'll have the Santa photo and will post it when they're ready. I wonder what he told Santa he wanted for Christmas?

Back at home, we took a family nap which was awesome. We also made chili and watched a movie, making for a nice relaxing evening.

And then it snowed. We woke up Sunday morning to lots of snow on the ground. Adam took Chester for a walk and said he was pretty cute gallivanting through the snow. Adam cleared the driveway (for the first time), and then we headed out to the Vikings game. It was the third game we went to this season!

The drive went quicker than we expected, and we only almost got hit once. Ha. The idiot next to us decided to switch lanes into us. I'm honestly surprised he didn't hit us. It was really close. Adam handled it well though while I had a bit of a panic attack.

The game was exciting in the first quarter, and then got a little dull while the Vikings tried to just maintain the lead and burn time off the clock. It was still a fun time though. Maybe not for Adam. He was all whine-y because AP was on his Fantasy Football opponents team. And AP had a HUGE first quarter. 104 yards or something like that? Ending with 154 rushing for the day.

The Vikings picked off Cutler twice, which was exciting. Harrison Smith returned one for a touchdown. Ironically, all the scoring took place on the end of the field that we were NOT sitting on.

This hilarious cut-out sign was of Cutler roped up by Jared Allen. It even moved!

We were home by 4, which wasn't too bad considering the massive amounts of snow we received. Chester and I took a walk around the block. A lot of the sidewalk wasn't cleared yet, so it was funny to watch Chester jump in the snow. He looked like a little bunny!

Even though it was still snowing, it was getting later, so Adam cleared the driveway again. He's enjoying the new Toro snowblower!

We ended up getting 13" by us. Way more than the 6-8" that was forecasted!!!
