Then it was on to Devil's Golf Course which was on a gravel road a mile off the main road; quite dusty!
This whole area used to be a lake (30 feet deep), but when the water evaporated, it left a crust of salt five feet deep. The salt pinnacles were small but made the landscape quite dramatic.
We then took a short detour along Artists Drive. It was a lot of fun to cruise with the top down through this scenic and windy 9 mile long route. Luckily it's only one way, so you don't have to worry about other cars on the sharp turns and narrow road.

About halfway through the drive is Artist's Canyon, so named because of all the colors in the rock.
Our next stop was at Golden Canyon. A lot of Star Wars was filmed in this area. Here we went on a short hike.
Then we were back up by Furnace Creek. We stopped at the General Store where I picked out an ornament to commemorate our trip to Death Valley and got a Twix ice cream bar to enjoy. Yum!
On our way out of the park, we stopped at the Death Valley sign and set up the tri-pod so we could get a photo together. We had the spot to ourselves so we didn't look like too big of dorks!
We only had enough time to explore Central Death Valley, but there's a lot more to explore as its the largest National Park outside of the state of Alaska!
The sun was going down on our return drive to Vegas, which was just beautiful.
Back in Vegas, we went to Bass Pro Shop for Adam. He very much wishes we had one nearby as apparently the fishing section is quite expansive. Adam only bought a t-shirt and hat here though.
Then we headed over to Hot N Juicy Crawfish for dinner. It was an hour wait at one location, so we drove down the street to the other location where it was supposedly a half hour wait. It was an hour. But it was well worth it. Adam and friends had gone here last spring and enjoyed it. It was an interesting concept, but lots of fun. You order your seafood choice which is priced by the pound (crawfish, shrimp, crab, lobster, etc) and then pick your sauce.
They bring it out to you in a plastic bag. You eat it with your hands - gloves optional, but a necessity in my opinion as there is no silverware. Your drinks come in disposable glasses as well. When you leave, they just fold up your plastic tablecloth with all your disposable items in it and throw it away. Pretty wasteful really... But it was delicious, especially the Hot N Juicy sauce! I especially enjoyed Adam's shrimp and wish I would have ordered some for myself! Somehow I've never seen the episode, but I guess this place has been featured on Man Vs. Food.
After dinner, we drove over to downtown Vegas to check out Freemont Street. When we arrived, the Bon Jovi show was on. Every night on the hour they play music and have a light show on the ceiling.
Freemont Street is interesting in that you're sort of outdoors and sort of indoors. It reminded me of an indoor/outdoor outlet mall like the Tanger Outlet in Wisconsin Dells.
It was pretty cool, but the place was packed. We walked around for half an hour, and then decided to call it a night.
Back at the hotel parking garage, we spent an hour looking for a spot before giving up and going next door to Buffalo Bill's ramp. It was ridiculous and made us extra cranky. So we just went to bed.
