Weekend Recap: Labor Day Weekend

This year, we decided to stay home for Labor Day weekend. It was really nice to enjoy a long weekend at home for once.

Friday night, we grilled steaks, garlic bread, and corn. I made some delicious habanero mango butter for the corn. It was awesome. Adam's not really into corn, so it wasn't his favorite. But I really enjoyed it.

We also watched a lot of Game of Thrones, which is our latest favorite show to watch. I love it! Adam thinks it's okay, which I expected as he's not really into Medieval or fantasy shows. He did not enjoy Lord of the Rings, and this is similar in genre.

Saturday was our house projects day. Adam installed a new light fixture on the exterior of our storage room, and I spray painted a new light for the front of our house.

It was silver,

and I wanted it to be ORB (which we couldn't find)

I also spray painted a little table for plants. It's kind of a pile, but it works well for out on the porch.

I decided that my spray painting skills could use a little work.

Then we watched another Game of Thrones marathon!

Sunday was our boat day. We enjoyed fishing out on Lake Jane.
I was convinced that Adam had just caught a bunch of weeds, but there was actually a bass in there!

The water was really clear, so I actually had the most fun watching the fish come up and nibble on my plastic bait (we forgot worms). It was fascinating!

Adam caught a few bass, and I ended up catching some bluegill before I decided to relax and read.

It was warm out, so we were finally able to go swimming too! It was quite refreshing.

Chester and I hung out together most of Monday as Adam had a little bass fishing tournament with some friends. Then once again, we watched a Game of Thrones marathon. I may be addicted.

So even though we didn't do a ton, we still had a nice weekend!
