Weekend Recap: Ren Fest & Vikings Game

Friday evening, Adam did some fishing with a work buddy while Chester and I relaxed at home and did some trip planning.

On Saturday morning, we got up and going by 10 am to head down to Shakopee for Renaissance Fest. I got free tickets at work, so thought we'd check it out. I couldn't believe how packed it was. Unfortunately, we hated it. It was just too weird for us. Lots of people were dressed up for it. People that didn't work there.

Like this guy walking around in a knight costume.

I felt bad for dragging Adam all the way down there for it.

We only stayed about an hour. I did enjoy my strawberry and cream crepe though!

Chester was happy to see us when we got home. We ended up running some errands because our wide angle lens wasn't back from it's repair yet, so the photo shop let us borrow a similar lens for our trip. Really nice of them!

We also stopped and grabbed dinner at Smash Burger. It was quite good!

My dad and sister came up on Sunday to join us for the Vikings game. It was the first game of the season, so I was quite excited!

Christine said this photo would make her lose her "street cred."

Adrian Peterson played his first game after coming back from his torn ACL last Christmas. The applause and cheers for him were quite loud!

At half time, Chris Doleman received his Hall of Fame ring in a short presentation.

The Vikings didn't play all that well, and gave up the lead with 20 seconds left. But somehow, they tied it up with a field goal. And went on to win! It was pretty exciting!

On our way back home, we picked up Kelly at the U of M. It was fun to see her! She came back to the house with us where we watched the Packers game and had pizza. It was a good time! And Chester really loved having company!
