Trip Planning

One week from today, we will be in London! We actually leave late Thursday night, but don't arrive in London until Friday. We cannot wait!

Last weekend, I worked on finalizing our itinerary for London. Adam thinks I'm a crazy, but this is how I did it -

Yes, those are little "flash cards" with the sites + hours + other info (like cost and approx time to visit) written on them. There is just SO much we want to do in London, this was the only way I could visualize it and piece together our days. I started out by writing on each card something we wanted to do or see. Then I grouped them by location. Of course we're not going to be able to fit everything in, but this really helped organize it. This may be too over planned for some, but it ensures that on the last day we aren't freaking out because we didn't see what we wanted to see and we're out of time.

Today, I ordered our tickets for the Warner Brothers Studio Tour - a tour of the sets and props from Harry Potter!! This is something I really wanted to do, but Adam was less than enthused about. Meanwhile, after seeing a clip about it during the Olympics, Adam really wanted to go to Greenwich to see the Prime Meridian. I was there when my family visited me in London back in 2005. I wasn't impressed then, so I definitely wasn't interested in seeing it again. Nor did it fit in the schedule I had created. However, we compromised, and will be doing both. We both win!

I'm also really excited for the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. I wrote away for our tickets a few months ago (including 2 International Reply Coupons), and we'll be seeing it on Sunday evening. It's a short ceremony that's taken place every night since the 14th Century. I love the Tower of London. I love pomp & circumstance. So I'm sure I'll love this. I saw a little snippet of it during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics, which made me especially excited for it.

Adam is a really good sport to put up with my planning madness.

Finalizing Dublin and our Ireland itinerary is the plan for this weekend. And maybe we'll think about starting to pack. Maybe.
