Kansas City: Day 3

View from our hotel room of Arrowhead (left) and Kauffman (right)
On Sunday, it was time to head home. We got up, packed, and checked out by 10:45. Then we went on a wild adventure to find my new favorite pop - Barq's Red Cream Soda. No luck. I was really bummed and settled for two 12-packs of Big Red. Sadly, it's just not the same.

The last thing we did before leaving Kansas City was have lunch at our third BBQ place, Gates & Sons. It was a lot more like Arthur Bryant's than Oklahoma Joe's, but it was still pretty good.

I forced Adam to take a photo outside, but he wouldn't participate with putting up 3 fingers to signify this was our 3rd BBQ place.
After lunch, we hit the road, listening to the Twins win to complete the sweep on the way. How exciting! After a quick bite to eat in Owatonna, we made it home. It took us 7 hours to get home, but it was probably about 6 hours of actual drive time as we made a few stops.

We had such a great road trip to Kansas City. It was fun to be together and watch the Twins win. I'll admit, I was skeptical and was bracing myself for going all the way down to Kansas City to watch them lose twice. But they played really well and were fun to watch!
